Hidden Gem to Discover - TQ to all

I recently enjoyed a short 2-night stay at Damai Laut Resort. After a nearly 3-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur, I arrived at 2:45 PM and was promptly ushered to the EFL by the concierge for a speedy check-in. I received my room within 30 minutes.
My room was located in Wing 2, facing the sea. I appreciated the upgrade to a nicely laid-out suite with two full baths and a 2+1 bed setup, which can easily accommodate a small group or family. Everything in the room worked perfectly, including the lighting, hot water, internet, and air conditioning.
The EFL operates from 7 AM to 7 PM and serves evening cocktails from 5 PM to 7 PM. This time, the evening cocktails were quite decent. Kudos to the Chef and the kitchen team! The team managing the EFL was friendly, attentive, and accommodating.
The main food outlet, MK, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a cozy environment with both air-conditioned and open spaces. The team was friendly, and they have improved their breakfast spread, offering a decent and extensive selection including nasi lemak, nasi goreng, mee, pastries, fruits, and some Chinese dishes. The food tasted great.
The rooms were well-maintained daily by the housekeeping team. Special thanks to Tarek and Gajendra for their efforts.
During my 3-day stay, the weather was hot and humid with hardly any rain, making it ideal for well-planned outdoor beach activities.
Thank you for hosting my short stay. Special thanks to GM Sahara, OM Gerald, FOM Sreether & team, HK Azean & team, Exec Chef Sanjay, Chef Aliff & team, GSA/Spa Jeffery, ELF Veronica & team, Concierge Asyraf, and the rest of the team who worked collaboratively to ensure a great experience and stay.

Great for family and toddlers never feel bored direct beach access super friendly staffs

Awesome staff experience from the bell to the smooth check in front office staff to the house keeping staffs, pool staffs , security guards, chef and his team at the restaurant every single one was welcoming and always smile while talk and greeted us.. we just had a last minute booking for a 3day2nights staycation with a Seaview high floor from the hilton mobile app..
Booking:
we had a great deal comparing the price from other places.. i would suggest try book from their mobile apps or official website to get all the additional perks… it was super easy with a very clear instructions.. even there was an option to choose our room for online check like we do for flights.. they share the room layout and allow me to pick the room.. this is something new and i like it compared to marriot bonvoy apps..
Check in:
Since i do web check and i managed to get a connecting room from online my check in process at the front office was very smooth.. we arrived at 2pm one room was ready nd the other one ready within 20mins.. we were welcome by the warm walnut cookies from the front office with some refreshing welcome drinks.. bellboy was super friendly to take our luggage’s to the room straightway..
Room/ House keeping:
House keeping done a great job the room was clean no dust even in the corner.. there was all amenities present additionally i should mention the Bangladeshi staff named “Tareq” done an awesome job helping us providing necessary staff for the room.. he even send the baby crib with baby blanket and additionally provide us the baby bathing basket when he saw we have an infant with us.. Hotel management should recognise Mr Tareq for his Extra Mile services! He deserves a 5star!
There was a small birthday cake with balloon decoration in the room since I mentioned my little son was turning 1 this month..
Restaurant/ Food:
Double tree makan kitchen never disappointed me before and this time also had a great experience with good food from Chef Sanjay and his team… all the staffs were welcoming friendly and smiling until we were there.. Buffet breakfast was any other hilton standards.. with view live stall.. chef at the roti stall made us a Roti Telur freshly and it was delicious.. literally everything was there so no complaints..
but for lunch and dinner menu i was expecting more options.. i had to order grab for our dinner & lunch.. this is the only improvement area for me to highlight to the team..
Swimming pool / mini water park:
My 3yrs old with her grandmother had a super fulfilling time in the mini water park and pools.. all the staffs in the pool were super friendly and smiling and welcoming to us and other guests.. it looks they enjoy their job.. i would request Hilton management should recognise their service and efforts.. The nepali security guards also very friendly and attentive.. while kids running they also giving the kids a great time with smile.. good job !
Special mention to front office staff “Tiha” had done her best job and should be recognised by the management.. despite her super friendly attitude and service made our stay feel at home.. she always keep my sweet tooth cravings fixed with the warm walnut cookies.. Tiha has a great personality with a genuine intention to service with smile.. she should be an example for others in the team…
Overall was great except more food choices for lunch and dinner.. 4.5 out of 5 our verdict.. family friendly resort

Peaceful and serene hotel with a beach front.

This is a good value hotel, if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of an everyday beach hotel. Although it appears to have quite a bit of its property designed to be kid friendly, it is large enough to have areas that are very peaceful.
The service is pretty decent but the options for meals are limited. But they do have a great breakfast buffet spread.
I enjoy my stays here , especially when I want some peace to think about life in general and mine in particular.

Bad Hilton standard like kampung !Badly managed !only executive club

No comments - will never come back again Even with offer of complimentary stay!
Staffs are not friendly too many Indian staffs !Staffs need training to change the better operations way!
This is not critic but not worth to pay the rate with bad quality in terms of service n badly managed!!!

Not up to par

I’ve stayed here several times, and on each visit, the check-in process has consistently been very slow — with waiting times of up to 30 minutes. It’s surprising that after nearly a year, this issue remains unresolved. While I appreciate the quality of the rooms, the experience at the front desk leaves much to be desired.
I previously shared this feedback and received a standard explanation from Gerald Kanniah, the Operations manager blaming the long queues on peak periods, such as school holidays and festive seasons, along with a suggestion to pay extra for early check-in. However, instead of making excuses or asking guests to bear additional costs, the focus should be on improving the check-in system itself.
High guest volumes during these times are entirely predictable, and with proper planning and process improvements, the hotel should be able to manage this more effectively. Queue management strategies, digital pre-check-in options, or better staffing during peak hours could go a long way in addressing this issue — without shifting the inconvenience or cost onto the guests.

In response to your concerns, I am pleased to share that we have implemented digital pre-check-in options to help expedite the process. However, in compliance with Malaysian government regulations, all guests are still required to register in person at the front desk and present a valid identification card upon arrival. While this mandatory requirement limits our ability to fully streamline the process digitally, we are actively working to enhance queue management, staffing levels, and operational efficiency to reduce waiting times, particularly during peak seasons.
