Thats the place to go. Spend a few days on the island, explore the city of Palma and shopping :-) - then travel through the mountains and visit some awesome beaches. If you are travelling in summer, be prepared for rumble. But if you travel before june it is just the best place ever. You will find hotels and rental cars that suite all budgets.

The largest of Spain’s Balearic islands, Mallorca is sometimes overshadowed by the party atmosphere of Ibiza. But Mallorca still retains a low-key quality that makes it perfect for a relaxed getaway. Of course, the island has its built up areas – the south is where the big resorts are, and if you’re searching for traditional Mallorca you’ll be searching in vain. But head for the north west coast and you'll find the village of Deia. one of the island’s most beautiful spots, at the top of a hill in the Sierra Tramuntana mountain range. Worth going to Mallorca for alone.

Didn't spend too much time here (starting point for a cruise), but from the short time we did have to explore, it was very scenic with lots of pleasant surprises hidden around corner we went around.

Mallorca has many faces and for a relatively small island, it takes a long time to get to know them. South-west: Home to much of the island's tourism and most of its shopping / nightlife. A largely urban environment, the south-west is where you'll find Balearic capital, Palma, but there are also lots of beaches. North-west: This is a mountainous region and where you'll find some of Mallorca's most beautiful scenery. Highlights include the villages along the coast, hiking/cycling/climbing in the mountains and beautiful drives (especially Sa Calobra). North-east: Though tourist resorts dot the coastline, the north-east is quieter than the south-west. The old towns of Alcudia, Pollença and Artà are charming and full of history, while nearby Cap de Formentor is a spectacular rocky outcrop into the sea. South-east: This is a large and diverse area. Inland, where it can become very hot in summer, you'll find many siesta-loving towns. Manacor and Felanitx are two of the bigger places. There are also some busy coastal spots popular with tourists, including Porto Cristo and Cala D'Or. Middle: An area that doesn't really fit into the above. Inca is the main place here and it's a typical working Mallorcan town, not without its charms. The region is known for its wine-making and nearby Binissalem is worth a look. Pretty Sineu lies at the geographic centre of the island.
