Vasco Da Gama Kappad is Poor Value in spite of good property infrastructure, poorly managed undermanaged
Similar story with Restaurant/ Bar -- run like a low end buffet -- not like a property that tries to the top two in Kappad or a top 10% 3-star or equiv property in Kerala. Food was avg to poor, I ate in the dhaba/ local restaurants on the beachfront that have good local food (the biriyani, local specialty kozhikoddan biriyani, a delight for meat and fish lovers, is excellent.
The beach, coast line is beautiful -- I will share pictures later. The water is calm and warm -- we bobbed in the water both in the morning and in moonlight.
Heads-up -- Vasco Resort Spa has no direct beach access or overlook of the ocean, although in Kerala and in Kappad, there are lots of public access available (thanks to govt of india rules about not letting private developers control access to the coast line exclusively)
Net net hope the management (or better still owner) of the property Vasco da Gama resort spa in Kappad sees this and takes some action to install some active management and leadership. Your property is also getting destroyed from lack of oversight, lack of ownership -- for example simple things like the drip drip from an air-conditioning unit outside my room is destroying the wood banisters of what is a nice balcony.

Stay
They immediately changed our rooms and gave us rooms on the third floor but these rooms were also full of dust and insects .
But the staff were amazing as they immediately cleaned up the rooms and washrooms for us on request. Extremely wonderful staff .
The rooms looked very neglected and the room in which our kids were, had damp fungus on the wall, behind the bed. Pillow covers and sheets were clean but very old and full of lint .
The bathrooms had no hot water in the shower. Tiles were unclean .
Also the steps leading up to the room were extremely dark at night and was difficult to find our rooms in total darkness. I got lost as I could not find my way in the darkness. Please put lights in the corridors and staircase.
We had ordered room service (dinner ) and the food was very delicious and served piping hot . Soup was delicious as well.
The complimentary breakfast was extremely disappointing. The omelette was unpalatable and the bread was stale. Chana was pretty good but bhaturas were burnt . Dosa, sambar and chutney was good.
The only thing good about the place is the beautiful location on Kappad Beach . Could just walk across to the beach. Also the staff were extremely polite and cordial and assured us that things would be better on our next visit . Kudos to the staff . Thank you so much for your service. The garden is pretty too.

Neat & classy room and facilities, with close proximity to peaceful uncrowded beach
Room service is very prompt and flawless. Food can be ordered to room as well. The open restaurant overlooking the pool & beach is maintained neatly. Food is above average. Staff is very helpful.
Pool is very well maintained, and the best part this that the water is naturally heated. Playing in the warm water in pool was a unique expedience.
The best part of the resort is its close proximity to the beach, which is less than a 100 mtrs away. A very peaceful and secured beach, with basic facilities available. Tea and snacks in the shops opp to the beach (next to mosque) is a must.
Overall, a very warm and cozy beach resort experience.
I have to mention that Princy was very helpful and courteous in making our stay a memorable one.
