Awesome budget motel. Very humble room. Nice area. Cheap motel in a nice area. No tweakers walking around all night. Outdated and kinda musky, but after airing out, it was ok. Noisy AC though.

I have stayed too many hotels from Hotel.com but nobody charged cleaning fee except this one this looks odd to me otherwise stay was pleasent.

Decent place to stay central to Encinitas - a lot of good coffee shops / restaurants in the area.
A bit of an older building with limited parking. The rooms are very basic, but not terrible. They are a bit cheaper / night, but charge additional fees for extra towels / room service. They will also charge if you lose a room key.
Good location with friendly staff, but just OK overall.

Filthy and poorly maintained
At first glance, this is a cheap roadside motel, but looks can be deceiving. The Roadway Inn in Leucadia is actually an overpriced poorly maintained slum. When we pulled up, all the doors and windows of the vacant rooms were wide open. I’m assuming this is to soften the initial blow of the decades old moldy carpet and urine drenched shower curtain. I’m actually surprised this building hasn’t been condemned because of the carpet alone. It’s a good sized room, but that’s about all it has going in the pros column.
My room was infested with insects, mainly ants and roaches, the fridge freezes everything, no matter the setting, so keeping food here is impossible.
There were “fluids” splattered all over the headboards.
The hot water wouldn’t work and when I complained about it, I was told it was because the pipes were too cold (this was during a heatwave on an 87 degree day)
I wanted to say the staff was pleasant, but that would be a lie, they’re con artists. I had to extend my stay a few days and they charged me double the online rate (could get online because this was a cellphone dead zone and their WiFi was down)
Technically you can stay here, but you’re putting your health on the line.

Check in was easy, the staff were wonderful! The room was clean. There were spots on the ceiling in the bathroom and chips in the tub, but they are renovating the hotel and hadn’t gotten to our room yet. The only complaint I would have is that the mattress felt worn out and wasn’t very comfortable.
It was super close to dining, shopping, and the beach.
The grounds are very well kept and there are beautiful plants everywhere.
Parking is a bit tight, but we parked towards the front of the lot and was fine. 10/10 would recommend for a budget friendly stay!
