A nice and Central place in Riga, just only 10 mins walk to the town. A quiet apartment without much disturt, l've done my self check-in and self check-out.

Apartment is a compact 1 bedroom in a good location close to transit, parks, and shops. It faces the courtyard and doesn't get direct sun for most ofthe day, and the bedroom has no windows. Several lightbulbs were burnt out so at night it was very dim. Check-in was partially explained - I got the key from a lockbox but hauled all my stuff up five flights of stairs before calling the host to learn that I needed to go down a side hallway, which had an elevator that wasn't mentioned in the listing (yay!). The place could use a deep clean, but it had a huge tub and a lot of storage in the closets and was overall an average spot - not bad, but not great.

Left after 1 night – mold & fake balcony

Stayed 23 → 24 Jun 2025.
Cleanliness (1/10): Moldy washer drawer & coffee maker, musty sheets/towels, dirty microwave, glasses & cutlery.
Balcony claim (0/10): Listing shows “outside area with balcony.” Reality = a tall window with a Juliet rail—nowhere to step out. Host (Dmitrijs) insists that counts as a balcony.
Refund nightmare: Pre-paid €427.92 for 6 unused nights. Got €170 back; host offered €30 more but never sent it. Still owed €287.92 despite weeks of chasing.
Checked out and paid for a hotel ourselves. Host replies were brief and vague; no real solution offered.
Avoid until hygiene is proven, the listing is corrected, and refunds are honoured. All evidence filed with Booking.com.

Scam and unusable

I was travelling with my two kids.
Have booked this apartment (via booking.com) for three people and made it very clear to the host that we will need to utilise their sofa bed.
My daughter that was sleeping on the sofa bed end up not getting any sleep at all, due to the sofa bed been faulty. Came to me only in the morning, crying... she didn't want to wake me up. Every time she made a move the sofa bed made horrendous noise. The springs on the sofa bed were faulty and not maintained. Texted the host, but all my messages were ignored. I had no reply. End up booking an alternative accommodation. The host and the booking.com refused to provide refund, no matter of all the evidence that I have recorded and provided. In addition, the bedding linen were very old and smelled. Which is a small issue compare to no sleep and no refund
Summary:
Apartment is a scam
Sofa bed is absolutely unusable to faulty springs.
No communication from the host.
Took money and didn’t refund it, after we had move to an alternative accommodation.
Wouldn’t take it even if it was for free

Well located, spacious and functional apartment with good cable channels, Wi-Fi, kitchen and washing machine. The apartment is quite hot in summer and there is no ventilation in the bedroom. There is a mobile air-con unit but it leaks water onto the floor. Also, the low quality bed sheets did not fit the mattress and they became uncomfortable every night when they came loose. It is a shame that they didn't simply have proper sheets, and they should provide a top sheet.
