Beautiful old town with lots of interesting tourist shops and boutiques. Plenty of place to eat and drink. Don't forget to visit the main square "Plaza de las Naranjas" and take a walk along the beach promenade. You can walk all the way to Puerto Banus and beyond to San Pedro de Alcantara.
Beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea and the foothills surrounding. Although the beaches are not the prettiest sand I've seen in my travels there seems to be a lively scene up and down the beach. Marbella was a great town to have lunch take in a few drinks and within a 45 min walk from Puerta Banus.
Over-the-top town for people watching, as it's favored by celebs, elites and bigwigs from OPEC states in Middle East. Yet it still retains the beauty of a traditional Andalusian coastal town. A small botanical garden on Paseo de la Alameda has some Dali sculptures. Worth checking out.
Absolutely alive and posh during the summer months - especially by the beach, but it still carries a sleepy, carefree vibe when wandering through the old town. Whitewashed walls, hydrangeas, and orange trees are my favorite characteristics of old town Marbella...and the sun, of course.
