Well it was right after a Roma/Gypsy girl gang and one male traveling wth a female companion yells Versailles after getting off train the elderly women was pick-pocketed on Bastille Day. I was on guard the whole time in such narrow space with a lot of people. In the Mid summer walking thru the hall of mirrors was enchanting. I didn't do gardens because I had on sandals I don't like sand on piggies when I'm wearing shoes. But the gift-shop was a hoot. Everything a princess would love. Scholars checkout the bookstore. I wanted to tell from the balcony "Eat the Cake" but I held my composure.
Here the statue that luigi XIV commissioned to Bernini , the artis had to come from Rome . Do not miss it !
Very busy in June. You need about 4 hours to see it all. Take the time to go through the extensive gardens. There is a light show at night. Amazing!
