Black Rock Grill was sublime !

Just enjoyed, no, loved my Black Rock Grill experience at the Little Downham Anchor. Absolutely outstanding!
Four of us went to try this new experience out, and every single element of the evening was astounding. The choice of dishes was wonderful, the quality was superb, and the quantity of food provided was almost endless.
We tried a mixture of starters ranging from halloumi fries and pork belly bites - these were truly wonderful.
The main event for us was lamb and ribeye steak with a wide selection of sides. The entire process of cooking your own meat on a hot stone at the table was both intriguing and very rewarding. You cooked it just how you wanted, and if you fancied some more, more came, and still more.
Desserts were unbelievable. Rich and sumptuous in taste and texture, and topped off a superb evening with dear friends. The entire event was wonderful and we’re all asking when the next evening is being held.
A wonderful experience, very enjoyable and eagerly anticipating a return to the Little Downham Anchor.

Embarrassing

Good morning, I am staying for work and I must say that despite having low expectations, this hotel disappointed me greatly. Room cleaning was nonexistent, breakfast and dinner were nothing short of embarrassing.

Short stay

Excellent stay, room very comfortable, excellent for disabled person.. Food great, breakfast was superb , Staff.very friendly and accommodating, the bar was very nice (as was the beer) !

Lovely breakfast with great ingredients

Had a lovely breakfast today at the Anchor with my mum. Both of us had the full English and it was a lovely size with lots of nice fresh ingredients. The sausages especially were very nice. The coffee was lovely too. Good value for money. Highly recommend

Disappointed

Terrible food and service very very disappointing, we always go with friends but anymore, my friend was extremely ill on her way home and when she eventually got home it started all again.
We will not be going there anytime soon maybe never, they need too get better staff and definitely better cooks very very disappointing

thank you for your feedback from your visit in 2019! unfortunately as your visit was 6 years ago there is not much we can do to resolve the issues you have stated. we have new staff, new menus and a new look completely and our recent reviews show us that our customers are happy and think the complete opposite of what you feel. Again thank you but we strongly suggest you come and give us another shot as we feel we can change your opinion.
