Amazing evening meal
What a lovely evening! We visited with friends tonight and had such a fantastic time. We were really worried because roadworks meant we arrived about 40 minutes late, but the team couldn’t have been more understanding or welcoming. From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel completely at ease.
A special thank you to Judith, who was absolutely brilliant. She looked after us so well and even took the time to show us how to fold the napkins – such a fun and memorable touch that really summed up the friendly, personal service we received all evening.
The food was outstanding. Between us we sampled the soup, beetroot salad, fish and scallops to start, followed by the lamb, steak and halibut for our mains. Every dish was beautifully cooked, full of flavour and presented perfectly. We somehow found room for dessert too, with a cheeseboard, sticky toffee pudding, chocolate and raspberry mille-feuille, and a tart – and every single one was delicious!
The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, the surroundings were beautiful, and the whole evening felt really special. It’s so refreshing to find a restaurant where the service is just as memorable as the food.
A thoroughly deserved five stars. Thank you to everyone for making our evening so enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back very soon – especially to try the Sunday roast, which we’ve been told is not to be missed!

Relaxing night away
All the food we ate was perfect too - cooked to perfection with a wonderful choice of wine too.The room we had was so comfortable clean and presented in an immaculate way. We had a fabulous walk to the reservoir too. We will return highly recommended.

We must find an excuse to go back
We had an evening meal there. It lived up to its ‘Fine Dining’ label. The staff were so attentive.
For breakfast, I rated my poached eggs some of the best ever and I’m a fan of Flat White Coffees and gave it a 10 out of ten.
We want to find an excuse to be in that part of the world again just to experience the pleasure of staying at this 5 Star hotel.
